This is a picture I took when we were on our way back to the city after we went sight-seeing at some great tourist spots about 3-4 hours out of Melbourne. We cruised through the beautiful, BEAUTIFUL countryside... it was so BREATHTAKING ! ! !
And that up there was a stunning, STUNNING sunset. It's a simple sunset, yet it was one of the most AWE-INSPIRING sunsets I've ever laid eyes on. It's like God could take me right there and then. I would die happy cause just taking in that sunset made me feel so fulfilled. Gosh...I felt so damn alive you have no idea.
It's different from the sunsets you see here in Borneo. I think it has something to do with the climate. Malaysia/Borneo is obviously tropical.. Wikipedia says that Melbourne has a "moderate oceanic climate". I think that plays a role in how sunsets look like. The sunset along the countryside in Australia was..enigmatic, elegant, soft and..nostalgic. Hahaha I don't know if that makes sense, but that's how I would describe it.
and the stars.. oh my goodness, THE STARS. don't even get me started on the stars. There were SO many of em and they were all sparkling so fabulously up there against the vast dark nightsky. I will never forget that sight... I was obviously going so damn crazy cause you know how I am with stars.. i LOVE stars!
Gah.
Australia was what I absolutely needed after 4 years of routine, seeing and being in the same places and going through the same things over, and over again. Can you imagine how dreadful & sickening that is, especially considering the kind of person I am who gets bored way too easily. So Australia, my god Australia...it was like a breath of sharp rejuvenating fresh air. Now I feel it IN MY BONES what I really so badly want to do. To go out and explore the world.
It's crazy what travel and seeing new places does to you. Maybe travelling isn't for everyone, but I believe that it is for me.. it's so fulfilling.
Power to wanderlust baby.
