The world. This life.

The world creates this notion that compels, or rather, forces you to adopt the mentality that if you do not make it big in life, you are an underachiever or a failure.
The world creates this idea, that your worth is measured by your successes, how far you've gone, your wealth, and it goes down to how much money you have, what time-wear you buckle on your wrist, what car you cruise down the highway with, what position you hold in a corporation, the businesses you own, the social stratum you are classified in, etcetera etcetera.

The world creates this idea that perfection is the way to go, that only the best are admired and revered, that only the best are wanted and accepted with no hesitation, with no conditions. Not 2nd best, not just satisfactory, but the best in utmost superiority. The world is harsh. The world is ridiculous. The world is a grim place to live in, and to live up to.

At least, that's what I think the secular world is like.

But in a spiritual context, it is different when you put God into the picture, when you put Him at the center of every single little thing, above every thing else. It is different when you have own personal spiritual stand that does not comply with the world's standards. You wouldn't fret about how you have to make it big in life, you wouldn't care about having tonnes of money just so people could look up to you, you wouldn't care when people think you're a failure, you wouldn't give a damn of the world's standards and expectations...

Because you know that God is The One who is most likely to know and see, your true worth.

Because you know that when God is on your side, He's the only one who's able to grant you things that the world certainly can't :  true inexplicable joy, happiness, peace and satisfaction that is not merely short-lived, but everlasting.
